Do we have to think twice about a wedding due to covid-19? Do we have to cancel our celebrations just because of a microscopic virus? Would it be good, if our wedding is planned in a big venue and now we are waiting for the venues to reopen after lockdown?
We already know so much goes into a wedding like budget, venue, food, photography and now new questions are adding up! Will the wedding ever happen?? Grrrr... Action Baby Crew has brought new solutions for these tough times. We have already successfully executed weddings through these lockdowns and here is one such story on how!
Lockdown Wedding Story 1
It is our very own Managing Director's wedding - a 12 year love story to life long commitment. The wedding reception was fixed on April 26th, 2020 for 2000+ people followed by Muhurtham on April 27th, 2020 for 1000 people at one of the top most wedding halls in Chennai city. The action started - wedding cards, catering, decor, shopping and by then pandemic started. While the bride immediately flew to India, the very next day our nation went under lockdown. Phew! Like any other, all our family members were loaded with questions as to what about the wedding, how about postponing, what about food, etc etc. Even Action Baby Crew planning team was worried because of the very short time and the uncertainties of availability during the lockdown.
But one thing that both the families were keen on is not to postpone the wedding. It was then our action baby crew team came into play to execute their decision.
So, first we cut down the wedding gathering count to just immediate family members to ensure safety and cancelled the venue and catering. Luckily the vendors agreed to refund back the advance. We fixed bride's house as our venue! Just because the wedding is going to be at a house, we din't want to compromise on any aspect of the wedding celebrations. We pulled in a very elegant and traditional home-style decor. It turned out to be very impressive.
Action baby crew's food management team organised meals for 40 guests from home made catering service. E-invite, Mehandhi, bridal make-up, photography, police permission, live streaming, priest, sanitisers, masks, thermal scanners were all set by April 24th. While the crew was little relaxed, then came in a big announcement on April 25th afternoon that Chennai city is going to be in a strict lockdown that weekend which happens to be our wedding, the very next day. OMG, tension brew.
Our strategic management head passed information to various teams to sustain the uncertainty and immediately Action Baby Crew had a discussion to make things possible smoothly. While the Photography team started very early to the Venue, caterers were stuck on their way as the policemen stopped them. Our team managed explaining the police men and made them reach the venue on time. We also arranged transportation facility for the priest. The venue was lit up for celebrations - Lights, camera, action and climax was the wedding went on jaam jaam with 30 guests at the venue and 1000+ members showering their blessings through live streaming. Quite a story! Thanks to action baby crew for making the wedding happen.
